Obituary of Annette McMurray-Smith
Suddenly and unexpectedly in the early morning hours of August 18, 2021, Mrs. Annette McMurray - Smith succumbed to a massive stroke originating late in the evening prior at West River Assisted Living, in Evansville, Indiana. She is now in the arms of her Lord and Savior. Annette was born on June 5, 1945 to the late Charles and Mary Francis (Gill) Johnson. Her Christian faith was personal and real; it sustained her through the troubled times and allowed her to always be a shining light to those around her. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, she settled in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she and her husband Clyde raised a family in McCandless. Annette was an executive administrator, professional seamstress, homemaker, Sunday school teacher, den mother, teachers aid, caregiver, a great bowler. She adored butterflies, loved amusement parks, holidays and picnics; her potato salad was raved over. Annette was a sweet-spirited kind soul, a precious jewel amongst gems, a loving giving mom, a praying woman, a survivor, a quick wit, and an avid reader, whom never a curse or swear word spoke. She loved and was loved deeply; she will be greatly and sorely missed! She was widowed two times, the late Clyde W. McMurray of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and recently Conrad Keith Smith of Evansville, Indiana. Annette is survived by her four sons, Joseph McMurray, David McMurray (Brandee), Timothy McMurray (Jessica), and Jason McMurray (Jennifer); stepsons Chris and Craig Smith; a brother Andrew Marshall; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Annette is to forever be interred with her first love and soulmate, at Allegheny Memorial Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Friends and Family will be received at Neely’s Funeral Home, Mt Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, Pennsylvania 15116 on Friday August 27, 2021, from 1:00 to -4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m.. A Christian celebration of promotion and body internment will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home and graveside. Rev. James “Cal” Callahan will be officiating.
