Anthony "Bud" F. Blondin Jr.

During the Vietnam War era, Bud enlisted in the U.S. Navy Reserve. He spent two years active duty and eight years in the Reserves.

Just before his last cruise in 1969, he met his future wife, Judy. They married in 1971 and celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on June 5th of this year.

In his younger years, he was an avid hunter, wood worker, and gun enthusiast. He had a natural talent for carving, building, or fixing most anything.

Bud was a life member of the Plumber's & Steam Fitters Local 136 and was also a graduate of the United Association. He carried certifications in welding, HVAC, and a contractor's plumbers license. He taught at the UA Local 136 Training Center for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Anthony F. Blondin, Sr.; sister, Mickey Schmidt; brother, Chuck Blondin; brother, Paul Blondin; and grandson, Jacob Blondin.

Bud is survived by his loving wife, Judy; sons, Jason and Jarrod Blondin, of Evansville; granddaughters, Jessica Ver Wayne (Jared) and Grace Blondin-Kissel; great grandchildren, Benjamen Beliles, Josephine and Kenadee Ver Wayne; brother, Randy Blondin; sisters, Jan Robinson (Mark), Dottie Wells (Gary), and Jeanie McCarty (Terry); and many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews who are very beloved.

A Celebration of Bud's Life will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1301 S. Green River Road, in Evansville. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Fr. Bernie Etienne. Entombment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery where full military rites will be conducted by the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club.
