Arthur Hart, Jr.

Arthur Hart, Jr. 94, of Evansville, IN went to meet his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Envive Health Care of Evansville. He was born in Livermore, Kentucky on May 5, 1930 to the late Arthur Lee and Edith (Gibbs) Hart.

Arthur was a Cpl. in the United States Marine Corps. He was very proud of his service in Korea and attended the Honor Flight on May 6, 2017. Arthur retired from Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library where he had worked for many years. After retirement, he enjoyed playing golf “full time” and woodworking. He was a 50 year member of Northeast Park Baptist Church. Arthur enjoyed being outdoors, taking care of his swimming pool, and flower garden. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Arthur was preceded in death by the love of his life of 70 years, Waneta “Neta” Hart and siblings, Frank, Jesse “JR”, Charles, Elnora, Gladys, Elizabeth, Arlene, and Rosetta.

He is survived by his son, Steve Hart (Sharon); grandchildren, Stephanie Weeks (Beau) and Brad Hart (Jenna); great-grandchildren, Corbin Weeks and Brennan Weeks; along with many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 26, 2024 at Alexander East Chapel with Rev. Dennis Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Alexander Memorial Park where full military services will be conducted. Friends and family may visit from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at the funeral home and Monday, from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
