Barbara Joyce Lovell

She was born November 21, 1934 in Nebo, KY to the late Herbert and Evelyn Lansden.

Barbara graduated from Bosse High School. She worked in the cafeteria at Thompkins Elementary School and later as the secretary at Old North United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Gilbert Lovell. Barbara and Gilbert were married at Oak Hill Presbyterian (now Oak Hill Bible Fellowship) where they were lifelong members and formed friendships that have lasted a lifetime. Barbara loved to read, travel and spend time with family and friends. She loved to spend time at the beach and never met a stranger.

Barbara is survived by daughters, Becky Laine (Jeff) of Evansville and Patty Alvey (Bob) of Loganville, GA; grandsons, Chris Laine (Anne) and Jake Alvey (Alana); granddaughters, Courtney Worsdorfer (Brent) and Kendall Parker (David) and nine great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, Evansville, IN 47711. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Cliff Herring, followed by burial at Alexander Memorial Park.
