She was a graduate of F.J. Reitz High School and went on to work several jobs before retiring from the Vanderburgh County Clerk's Office. Barbara was an active member of Westwood General Baptist Church and loved serving the Lord. She enjoyed playing volleyball and loved animals.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; and former husband, Gary Schwartz.
She is survived by her daughter, Jodi Schwartz; brother, Bill Grubb (Linda); nephew, Jon Grubb (Sara); Melody Veal (Mark); and Marissa and Mallorie.
Many thanks to Barbara's dear friends, Donna and Bob House, for loving her, always being there for her, and taking care of her dog, Elvis.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Pastor Ben Russell, with entombment to follow in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026 and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Park Nursing Center, 650 Fairway Dr. Evansville, IN 47710.
