

She was a member of Mater Dei's first graduating class in 1950. Betty enjoyed 56 years of marriage with her husband, Bobby Lee Alsip. She was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1114 Ladies Auxiliary and served as secretary and treasurer and helped run their bingos for many years. Betty was also active in SWIRCA doing Tai Chi and line dancing up to 3 times a week. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working crossword puzzles. Betty was an enthusiastic supporter of Mater Dei football, and a fan of professional golfer, Scottie Scheffler, and the WNBA Fever. Most of all, she was passionate about her family. They were her pride and greatest source of joy.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Bobby Lee Alsip; sisters, Janet Klusmeier and Nancy Stevens; and sister in law, Peggy Price.
She is survived by her children, Debbie Rickard (Bobby), Bobbie Birchler (Jerry), Cathy Cummings (Don), and Jeff Alsip (Krissie); grandchildren, Stefanie Simmons (Ryan), Casey Rickard (Matt), Cameron Goedde (Angela), Zach Rickard (Jessica), Melissa Rapolla (Brandon), Katie Rich, Nathan Gutzweiler, Kelci Warford (Jason), and Makenzi Johns (Sam); 14 great grandchildren; sisters, Judy Hamer, Mary Paradiso, and Patty Burghardt; and brothers, Steve Hamer and John Hamer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, officiated by Fr. Lowell Will, with burial to follow in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends and family may visit from 11:30 a.m. until service time at church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post 1114 Ladies Auxiliary.
