Betty L. Hammond

Mrs. Hammond is survived by her son, Randall, of Vincennes, IN; two grandchildren, Kristin (Ryan) Schackelford of Ft. Branch, and James-Paul Hammond of Vincennes; and one great-grandchild, Evan Shackelford. Also surviving is one sister, Lois Wiles, two brothers, Richard Bost and Charles Bost Sr., along with numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hammond was preceded in death by her husband, James, in 1997.

Mrs. Hammond worked for the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation for over 45 years before her retirement. Betty was a member of St. Lucas United Church of Christ.

Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Alexander Funeral Home – East Chapel – located at 2115 Lincoln Avenue in Evansville. Private graveside services will be held on Friday, June 15, 2012.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to her exceptional caregiver, Donna Long, in addition to her nurse, Samantha Jenkins. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Lucas United Church of Christ in Evansville, IN.
