Betty was a former EVSC assistant teacher at Caze Elementary School, McGary Middle School, and Scott School, retiring in 1998. She was also main Secretary for Schofield Electric Refrigeration Heating and Air conditioning company from 1977until 1997. She also worked at the telephone company as a long distance operator. She was a member of Methodist Temple Church. She was a member of Friday Night Dance club and the Coterie Dance club in Evansville Indiana. Betty was a former member of the Owls and the Eagles and loved to go dancing. The Owls is where mom met and had her first date with David. In her spare time, she also enjoyed arts and crafts, traveling, and visiting with friends and family. Betty was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, David Dalton Schofield, on June 19, 2007; sister, Barbara Moutoux; brothers-in-law, Jerry L. Schofield (Carol) and Donald Lowe.
Betty is survived by her son, Rick David Schofield (Lisa); daughter, Julie Renea (Schofield) O'Brien (Barry); son, Donald Bradford Schofield (Laura); grandchildren, Rachel Elizabeth Schofield, Allison Bailey (Schofield) Studyvin (Jesse), Brennan James Schofield, Joshua James Marlow, Jessica Renea (Marlow) Fetcher (Blake), Jacqueline Alyce Marlow, Jacob Andrew Marlow, Austin Bradford Schofield, and Tyler Samuel Schofield; nephew, Steven (Lisa); sister-in-law, Sandra Schmitz (George); niece, Kristy Josa (Gary); niece, Susan Parker (Jason); sister-in-law, Anne Lowe; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will dearly miss her presence.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Methodist Temple with Andy Payton officiating. Friends may visit on Friday October 14. 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Alexander East Chapel and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
