My deepest sympathy for your loss. I've taken care of Betty at Parkview on 2nd shift.She was a very sweet lady. I will miss her.

I will miss Betty at Parkview, I worked with her on 3rd shift and will miss having her call me a pest while I was caring for her because I would have to wake her up... She was a blessing to work with :) Prayers going out to her family

This is my grandmother and as a child I have good memories of her. We grew up calling she and my grandfather, "Mom and Dad". And our parents, "Mommy and Daddy". Some of my favorite memories with Mom were when we go to their house we had homegrown IN tomatoes and deviled eggs. She knew I loved her deviled eggs. Dad came over just about every Saturday morning. When he knew we were not up yet, he would putts around in the yard pulling weeds, pull of the dead leaves of some of the flowers, etc. I looked forward to seeing him. Dad enjoyed being outside. Every year Dad, my great Uncle Herald and my Dad(Jerry) would fix homemade ice cream for my birthday. I am so very proud of my Dad(Jerry). He has set a priceless example with taking care of Mom. His other siblings lived out of town, so he was there most often. He went everyday 1-2 times/day to help her stay in her home as long as possible. Sometimes she did not want to do some healthy things for herself so she would have a few choice words. Just Mom at times due to frustration with her needing help with her care. He helped her until it was obvious she needed more help than he could give her. The staff at Parkview took such awesome care of her. She made good friends where she lived. Sometimes we do not want to walk into a "nursing home", however there are great people who really care, many activities. Not a place we sometimes think of a "nursing home". Not people just sitting around waiting to die.
If you think about it these are places where those who live there have an abundance of wisdom and history of our societies past. Our elders who we are to show respect. I met people who I could have listened to all day. They were so full of knowledge. Just ask my Dad, Jerry. He enjoyed visiting and listening to friends he made when he would go to visit Mom. My dad continued to care for Mom by taking her to her doctor's appointments, having her hair done, visiting her and taking her outside. She liked to sit in the sun. I remember growing up she had a "green" thumb. She liked being outside and her flowers were beautiful. I live 1800 miles away so I had the opportunity to see her one last time this past December. She and Dad were good grandparents.

My name is Teresa Roth Fehr, I work at the Civic Center downtown and Betty would come in and I loved talking with her, she was a sweet little lady.  To Rick and his family, I am so sorry for your loss and my prayers are with you.

Bettys husband--------Lib-----------was a great friend of my mothers------------they were all friends of my brother in law, Norman Miser. Our prayers are with the family.
