Bettye Jean Garrett, 88, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at her home in Evansville. She was born on April 19, 1932 to the late Earl and Bessie Pierce.

She graduated from Bosse High School, class of 1950. She had a love for animals, supporting the Humane Society and volunteering by taking pets to nursing homes for visitations.

Bettye was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Roy A. Garrett.

She is survived by her son, Brian T. Garrett (Jane); daughter, Karen G. Hutchison; five grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, twelve great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Bettye’s family extends a special thank you to the staff of Kindred Hospice and Home Instead Senior Care.

A Private Graveside Service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vanderburgh Humane Society.
