He retired from Norfolk Southern Railway where he worked for over 25 years. After retirement, he owned and operated the Evansville Worm Ranch for 28 years. Billy loved playing pool, fishing, and golf. His pool team qualified and competed in the 1998 APA National Team Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a member of the American Poolplayers Association and Eagles Country Club.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; twin daughters, Melinda and Michele Knight; grandson, Christian Knight; brother, David Knight; and sister, Karen Canary.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Vicki (Sellers) Knight; sons, Shane Knight (Laura) and Matt Knight (Melissa); grandchildren, Courtney Knight, Tyler Caine, Wesley Knight, and Cameron Knight; sisters, Jenny Kollker (Danny) and Marcia Ellerbrook (Paul); brother, Mark Knight (Debi); beloved sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue. Friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home.
