Billy W. Belt, Sr.

Billy Wayne Belt, Sr., 71, of Evansville, passed away Monday, May 11, 2015, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born January 23, 1944, in Providence, KY, to J.C. Belt and the late Mary Schwartz Woodrow.

He was a US Navy and US Air Force Veteran. He worked for Alcoa from 1968 to 1998 as an electrician and volunteer firefighter, where he had been inducted into the 25 Year Club. Billy was a member of the American Legion and Rapha Christian Center, where he was also a Deacon. He enjoyed researching genealogy and loved to study and share God’s word.

Billy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon (Hamilton) Belt; sons, Billy (Susan) Belt, Jr. of Colfax, IN and Rev. Michael (Kay) Belt of Denton, TX; grandchildren, Cameron, Conner, Savannah, Summer, and Caleb Belt; sister, Phyllis Brawner; and father, J.C. Belt, both of Murray, KY.

Memorial Services will be 5:00 PM Thursday, May 14, 2015, at Rapha Christian Centre, 940 Saint Michael Boulevard, officiated by Rev. Michael Belt.
