June 3, 1932 – May 10, 2018
Bonnie Hardison, 85, of Evansville, crossed over to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, May 10, 2018. She was born June 3, 1932, in Fredonia, KY to the late Coy H. and Mildred Evelyn Sullenger.
Anyone who knew Bonnie knows she loved working in her yard. She loved planting flowers of various kinds and always had a vegetable garden. Of course, she always over planted and would send fresh garden vegetables to all her neighborhood friends. Bonnie always said she didn’t mind pulling the weeds because it gave her a place to go clear her mind. She enjoyed being in her own little world where there was nothing to think about but pulling the weeds from her garden. Her first priority in life was her family. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren. She never played favorites and had plenty of love to go around for each and every one of them. Bonnie enjoyed going to church and did until she became ill. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Willow Road Baptist Church, Bethel Church and Grace Baptist Church. In her younger years, Bonnie owned and operated her own restaurant, Bonnie’s Platoline 500 Café. She also worked at Amax Aluminum then moved in to real estate, owning and operating 44 rental units which kept her hands full until retirement.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husbands, William Ising, Jack Staples and Walter Hardison; son, Gary Ising; grandson, Kristopher Merideth; granddaughter, Anna Ising; sister, June Murray; and brother, James Sullenger.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Kortz, Michael Ising, Deborah Lilleston (Ralph), Penny Merideth, and Jack Staples, Jr. (Marla), all of Evansville, and William Dale Ising (Kathy) of St. Albans, West Virginia; daughter-in-law, Carol Ising of Charleston, West Virginia;16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 11 great, great-grandchildren; special friend, Frances Harp; and many nieces and nephews.
