Obituary of Brenda K. Goldman Foucault
Brenda Kay (Christenberry) Goldman Foucault, 79, of Evansville passed away Monday August 1, 2022. She was born September 22, 1942 to Foster S. and Mary Maysel (Ketcham) Christenberry. Brenda was the oldest of 5 children. In 1960 she graduated from high school with honors as valedictorian. Brenda graduated from Deaconess Hospital of Nursing on August 12, 1964. Later that evening she married the love of her life, Ralph D. Goldman at Central Methodist Church. After 39 blessed years of marriage, Ralph passed away on December 5, 2003. With her new family, Ralph and her step-daughter, Denise, Brenda enjoyed traveling to all 50 states. Some noteworthy adventurous activities included; the couple buying a used school bus and taking Denise’s Girl Scout troop to Mexico City, taking Denise’s 4-H group to Wyoming for a pack trip on horseback in the mountains. Brenda and Ralph also took youth groups from their church to conventions. With Ralph, life was always an adventure! As a nurse, she worked in Orthopedic and/or Neurology her entire career. She was a PA for an orthopedic surgeon before there were PA’s, scrubbing on the 2nd total hip performed in Evansville. She worked as a head nurse and as a staff nurse at Deaconess Hospital retiring 2011 after a 47 year career as an R.N. A highlight for Brenda, making 2012 a wonderful year, was being reunited with her biological daughter, Shereen Tyrrell (born 1962) and her grandsons, Michael and Ryan. Brenda’s newfound family all lived near Boston. The month prior, Brenda met her second great love, William Y. H. Foucault and was married on their shared birthday; September 22, 2013. Brenda was an active member of Mt. Pleasant Church of God and Deaconess Alumni. Her interests included church work and activities, and being active in local saddle clubs and 4-H. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a passion for flowers, photography, and getting together with friends. She was proud of her nursing career and served as first elected vice-president of NAON (National Association of Orthopedic Nurses). Brenda was President of Deaconess Alumni for six years. Most of all, Brenda was known for her compassion, kindness, hospitality and making others laugh. Her famous homemade yeast dinner rolls were a crowd favorite. Brenda was a true Christian, and always felt that God was always watching over her, and that her life was truly blessed. She is survived by her spouse, William Yves Henri Foucault; daughters, Denise Goldman Eickbush, Charleston WV and Shereen Tyrrell of North Reading MA, granddaughter, Alison K Eickbush (Rieko) Moyer, great-grandchildren, Bridget E., Payton B., and Henry R. Moyer all of Charleston WV; grandson, Benjamin (Kandace) Eickbush; great grandchild, Blakely J of Maysville KY; grandsons Michael and Ryan Tyrrell of North Reading MA. Bill's children include William (Jennifer) Foucault; Maria Warner of Louisville KY. His grandchildren; Hunter and Cierra; great-grandchildren; Aundreiah Foucault, Aurora Foucault and Dayton Foucault all of Evansville IN; granddaughter Baila of Louisville KY; sisters, Dixie (Jim, deceased)) Collins of Lyons, IN and Rebecca Sue (John) Turk of Mena AR.; brothers, Terry Jack (Vonda) Christenberry and Jerry Mack (Linda) Christenberry all of Odon, IN; as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins, and beloved puppy, Buffy. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday August 5, 2022 at Mt. Pleasant Church of God 8900 Baumgart Rd. Evansville, IN 47725.
