Carl Edward Wade died peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Pam Wade; father, Karl Wade; Mother, Lucy Wade; brother, Norman Wade (Betty); and sisters, Phyllis Seifert (Bud), and Sue Rutledge (Bill).
He is survived by his two daughters, Holly Kidwell and Heather Baugh (Scott); four grandchildren, Jordan (Morgan), Brooklyn (Joshua), Justin, and Jessica (Hunter); and three great-grandchildren, Lazarus, Solomon, and Arabella.
Carl spent his younger years playing baseball. After graduating from Mt. Vernon High School he attended Indiana State University on the first ever Baseball Scholarship awarded. He received his Bachelors and Masters degree in Education. He taught fourth grade for 34 years.
Not only was Carl a great teacher, he was an amazing coach. Coaching football, golf, and basketball at all age levels, he touched many athletes. His biggest accomplishment of his coaching career was winning the 1984 World Biddy Basketball Tournament with his 9/10 year old in Biloxi, Mississippi.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, June 12, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois St., Evansville, IN 47712.
