

Carmen taught as a school teacher for 40+ years and loved all her students. She traveled all over the world, loving her trips to Europe the best! She loved to shop and loved her shoes and purses. Carmen had a passion for fishing, dancing, and watching her football (Tampa Bay Buccaneers). She enjoyed the beach and was a people person. Carmen was a healthy person, participating in many exercise classes (yoga was her favorite). She was an avid reader. Carmen was a devoted Catholic, belonging to Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Tampa, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Carmen is survived by her son, Darby Hape; daughter, Deanna (Darren) McCandless; grandchildren, Randy McCandless (Kenzie) and Erik McCandless; sisters, Yolanda Rivera and Myrna Dalmau; brother, Nandine Colom; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville, IN 47714, following entombment at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends and family may visit on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/funeralstreamUSA beginning at 1:45 PM.
