kindness, service, and deep devotion to those she held dear.
Carol was a proud graduate of Harrison High School. Throughout her life, she worked in many roles, including at Arc Lanes, as a house cleaner, a crossing guard, and a caregiver. However, her most
meaningful and cherished role was as assistant cook at Central United Methodist Child Care. For over 18-plus years, Carol found true purpose in helping nourish and care for the children. She loved each child and formed lasting bonds with her coworkers, especially her dear friend Kathy Nunn. To Carol, this was more than a job—it was her calling.
Family was at the center of Carol’s life. She is survived by her brothers, Ronald Wiethop (Cathie) and Robert Wiethop (Carol). She leaves behind her loving children, Christina Schmidt (Scott), John Schmidt (Kristi), Matthew Flick, Aaron Flick (Carrie), and Mandy Peters (Marshall).
Carol’s greatest joy came from being “MiMi” to her grandchildren: Kayla Schmidt, Jena Grady (Jesse), Kyra Schmidt (Gordon), Kyle Johnson, Brayden Tasa, Hannah McCleary (Grant), Hope Peters
(Tommy), Jacob Flick, Shawn Whitfield, Samantha Gibbens (Eric), and Danica Flick. She absolutely adored her great-grandchildren, Jamison, Karsyn, Cara, Oakley, Maeve, Ariana, Holden, Messer,
Molly, and Addie, who brought endless happiness to her life.
Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald Flick, the love of her life. They shared 24 wonderful years of marriage filled with love and companionship.
Carol will be remembered for her feisty spirit, incredible strength, her selfless heart, and the love she gave so freely to her family, friends, and all the children whose lives she touched. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
