Carol Jane Mathews

She graduated from Harrison High School, class of 1974, and attended Washington University in St. Louis, Purdue University, and Ivy Tech, where she studied Art. Carol was an accomplished painter and her work is displayed in homes and offices in places far and wide. She was a knowledgeable horticulturist and animal lover, caring for a multitude of cats, dogs and fish over her life.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Bettie M. Mathews in 2000, and Dr. James R. Mathews in 2010.

She is survived by her sisters, Robin Cox (Greg) of Cincinnati, OH, Kitsy James of Evansville, Beth Mathews (Jim Taggart) of Santa Rosa, CA, and Nora Miller of Bend, OR; brothers, Jim Mathews (Debra) of Evansville and Tom Mathews (Holly) of Indianapolis, IN; twelve nieces and nephews; a grand-niece; and her beloved cats, Missy and Rascal.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at the home of Kitsy James on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
