Carolyn Ann Browning

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Louise Browning.

Carolyn dedicated 35 years of her professional life to Sears, where she served as Personnel Manager. She took great pride in her work and the relationships she built with her coworkers throughout her career. Even after retirement, she found great fulfillment working at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, where her drive, devotion, and spirit touched the lives of many residents and staff.

Carolyn found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved feeding the birds that visited her yard and had a remarkable gift for nurturing anything that would grow. Whether tending flowers, caring for plants, or "being Mom or Granny" to those she loved, she left everything she touched a little more beautiful than she found it.

She will be remembered most for her quick wit, playful teasing, and the unique way she showed her love. Her children and grandchildren knew her "tough love" came wrapped in humor, wisdom, and a deep devotion to her family. She had a way about her that would remind you that love isn't always spoken softly— it is often shown through honesty, resilience, and unwavering support.

Carolyn will be deeply missed by her three children: daughter, Lynne Armitage and her husband Kenny; daughter, Dedra Wood and her husband, Donald; and son, Chad Buttry and his wife, Heather. She was also the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren and great-grandmother of twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her devoted sister, Nancy Hughes who was always a constant source of support and love in Carolyn's life. Nothing brought her greater joy than having her family visit even if it was only for a moment.

Carolyn's memory lives on in the family she loved, the lessons she taught, and the countless memories shared in her kitchen and working with her in the yard. Though she will be deeply missed, those who knew her will continue to hear her voice in moments of encouragement, remember her spirited personality, and carry her love with them always.

A private family celebration of Carolyn's life will be held a later date. The family asks that, in Carolyn's memory, loved ones take a moment to feed the birds, plant something beautiful, or simply spend time with those they love.
