Carolyn A. Purkiser

She graduated from F.J. Reitz High School, and then went on to complete her nursing degree from the Deaconess School of Nursing. Carolyn was a registered nurse for many years at Deaconess Hospital where she retired. She enjoyed working picture puzzles and was an avid dog lover. Carolyn was a big IU fan, especially basketball.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her son, Mark Purkiser; and brother, Robert Karcher.

She is survived by her son, Robert Purkiser; grandchildren, Ethan Purkiser and Trevor Purkiser; nephews, Robert and Scott; and nieces, Wendy and Krista.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 19, 2026 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road officiated by Reverend Case Farney, with burial to follow in Lutheran Cemetery.
