Catherine M. Nelson

Catherine M. Nelson, 89, was a Christian and started her walk with the Lord on December 12, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Home. She was born August 3, 1926, in Henderson County, KY to the late Thomas and Willie (Price) Meredith.

She married Rev. Malcolm "Mac" Walker Nelson on June 29, 1946. She was very strong in her faith and dearly loved her family. Catherine was a member of Good Shepherd Assembly of God. She was selfless and always took care of everyone else before herself. She baked pies for Mac’s BBQ and was known for her coconut cream pies.

Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Mac, on December 5, 1961; son, Richard Bruce Nelson; four brothers; one sister; and many nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca (Jeff) Delano of Evansville and Janet Heil (Jimmy Lovelace); grandchildren, Brian Nelson, Christopher (Amanda) Heil, Angela Massey, James (Hollie) Thurman and Brent (Emily) Delano; great-grandchildren, Addison, Ashley, and Jeremy; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor Glen Pfohl, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
