
Catherine Kay Roebuck, 87, of Central Florida, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at VNA Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville, IN. She was born March 30, 1925, in Somerset County, PA, the daughter of Peter and Rose Zolensky.
During World War II, Kay worked as a “Rosie the Riveter” for the American Bridge Company in Ambridge, PA helping to build LST boats for the U.S. NAVY. In 1946, she married Joseph “Curly” Roebuck, who preceded her in death. After the war, she was a wife and mother. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Florida.
She is survived by her daughter, Antoinette Kranning; sons, Joseph and Von Roebuck; grandchildren, Jeff Kranning and Barret and Brett Roebuck; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Julia Switanek and Helen Attilio; brother, Walter Zolensky; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the Deltona Memorial Funeral Home in Florida.
