Charlene Olivia Chapman

Charlene O. Chapman, 86, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018. She was born on May, 10, 1932 in Evansville, IN to Elvia and Teresa (Heerdink) Ashby. She retired from Good Samaritan Home as a certified nursing assistant. Charlene was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed cooking and cleaning for her family and making people laugh. Charlene was kind-hearted, selfless, and forgiving. Charlene is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill W. Chapman, Sr.; daughters, Connie Backi, Becky Brooks; sons, Kevin and Curtis Chapman; brothers and sisters, Jim Ashby, Sr., Mae Knight, Joan Frazier, and Norman Ashby. She is survived by granddaughter and caregiver, Cari Chapman; daughters, Darla Taylor, Leesa Mays; sons, Bill Chapman, Jr., Kenny Chapman; sister, Anita Kissel; 13 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, officiated by Father Ted Tempel. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
