He graduated from Central High School, and went on to earn an Associates degree from Ivy Tech. Charles worked as a Lead Maintenance Technician at NexPoint Materials. He was actively involved in running a non-profit organization dedicated to his son, Logan, in prevention of drinking and driving called Logan's Promise. Charles was a son, brother, dad, and poppy to his family. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, New York Yankees, and Notre Dame.
Charles was preceded in death by his son, Logan Allen Brown.
He is survived by his daughter, Destiny Elyse Crites (Landon); grandchildren, Ivy and Miles Crites; parents, Gayle and Norris Ricketts; brother, Jesse Brown; and step siblings, Shane and Mesha Ricketts.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at Alexander West Chapel. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
