

Charles Dixon, 84, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born September 30, 1931, in St. Louis, MO, to the late Van and Virginia (Ikemeyer) Dixon.
He was a Navy Veteran, having served in the Korean War, and was a lifetime member of American Vets Post #84 and VFW Post #1114. He was also a lifetime member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Charles retired from Alcoa where he worked in mechanical maintenance. He enjoyed racing go-karts, motorcycles and was known as “Mr. Fix-It” because he could rebuild and fix about anything.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Dixon.
He was survived by his daughters, Theresa (Tony) Bogan and Janice Coleman; son, John (Julie) Dixon; grandchildren, Andy and Eric Bogan, Joshua, Janna and Jessie Coleman and Casey and Charlie Dixon; and companion, Janet Knight.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Lynn Marino, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
