

He worked for 35 years at Briggs and Stratton. “Charlie Dog/Cool Garrett” loved fishing, hunting, the outdoors, traveling, cooking, cowboy hats, and cowboy boots. He was known as the “life of the party,” loved to laugh, and loved his family. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.
Charles is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Garrett; son, Charleston J. (Rashidah) Garrett; daughters, Sharries and Nichole Garrett, both of WI; grandchildren, Brezae, Charleston, Jr., Dontrael, and Ra’Deja; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Gary (Freda), Anthony, and Jeffery (Mary) Garrett; sisters, Gloria Garrett Stewart, Carole Garrett (George) Culver, Rosemary Garrett (Lewis) Rountree, Jutton Garrett (Bernard) Causley, Debra Garrett (Charles) Willett, and Sharries Garrett; niece, Tashika Garrett; and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be 6:00 PM Friday, June 26, 2015, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Adrian M. Brooks, Sr.
