Charles “Charlie” Hughes, 86, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Linda E. White Hospice House. He was born on November 15, 1934, in Marion, Kentucky, to Ernest and Cleo Hughes.
Charlie served four years in the Army as a bulldozer operator and retired as a Teamster truck driver in 1996 (June 23, 1964 ~ September 28, 1996). He had a strong passion for his family and riding motorcycles with friends throughout the country. He was a big fan of Dale Earnhardt and NASCAR. Charlie enjoyed watching the World of Outlaws races at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathleen Hughes; ex-wife, Sherrie Stidham; and a great granddaughter.
He is survived by his children, Lisa (Will) Casswell and Frank Hughes of Evansville, and Tina Duncan and Misty Garbers both of Radcliff, KY; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and companion of 27 years, Pam Cutrell.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Doug Wilcox, with burial at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
