Cheri Lynn Simmons

She worked as a nurse for 31 years. Cheri was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching golf and tennis.

Cheri was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas J. Simmons; sister, Janice Johnson who passed away on August 4, 2025; and brothers, Larry Roll, Jon Roll, and Lyman Roll.

She is survived by her sons, Brent Marklin (Donna) and Scott Marklin; stepson, Douglas Simmons, Jr. (Stephanie); stepdaughter, Stacee George (Daniel); stepson, Sean Simmons (Kristy); grandchildren, Kylie, Nikki, Nathan, Johnny, Rylie, Sawyer, Mackenzee, Nathan, Benjamin, Matthew, John, and Nicholas; sister, Kathi; brothers, Jimmy and Kevin; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 for family and friends at Cheri’s residence.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vanderburgh Humane Society in her honor.
