Cheryl Ann Joest

Cheryl Ann Joest, 65, of Evansville, IN passed away Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Linda E. White Hospice House. She was born in Jasper, IN on December 4, 1960 to the late Emil and Ruth Marie (Fleck) Goeppner.

Cheryl graduated from Jasper High School in 1979 and from the University of Evansville in 1984 with a Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing. She retired after 40 years from St. Mary’s Medical Center/Ascension St. Vincent Hospital. Cheryl was a former member of Good Shepherd and Holy Spirit Catholic Churches.

Cheryl is survived by her husband of 38 years, Michael Joest; children, Emily Polen (Blake), David Joest, Alyssa Keach (Blade); grandchildren, Austin, Logan, Brooklyn, Kinsley and Willow; sister, Karen Erny (Thomas); brother, Glenn Goeppner (Karmin); several nieces and nephews; and her dog, Lola.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Noon on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville, IN 47714 with the Southern Indiana Nursing Honor Guard and Chaplain Anisa Evans officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
