Cheryl Ann Steward

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Cheryl enjoyed spending time with her family and helping anyone she could. Her hobbies included making jewelry, crochet, research, and genealogy.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Horace Choate; son Jason Vee Steward; grandson, Zane Alexander Steward; grandmother, Cora Louise “Nanie” Eller; and sister, Bonnie Lynn Warner.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Johnnie R. Steward; daughter, Erin Ann Steward; mother, Luana Johnson; grandchildren, Keira Steward, Mychal Ricardo (Arianna Alston), Alexander Ricardo, Jasmeena Ricardo, and Eufracio Daniel Morales; siblings, Tammy Abuzahra, John Leslie Choate (Lisa), Julie Sanchez, (Lazaro), and Tracy Rodriguez (Carlos).

A visitation to celebrate Cheryl’s life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue in Evansville, IN.
