We only heard of Chester's passing yesterday, and we wish to express our sympathy to his family. I had never met Chet but I felt like I knew him. My pop (Dick Aker) started working in radio with Chet in Kokomo back in 1945, and he loved participating in the radio plays Chet wrote. I have in my hand right now a copy of a WORLD DIARY script Chet wrote to commemorate the end of WWII. They worked together at a couple of other stations before Pop moved to Texas. Pop got back in touch with Chet a few years ago; he really enjoyed catching up and renewing their friendship. Rest in Peace, Uncle Dudley!

I remember watching "Uncle Dudley" drawing Gerry Giraffe & other cartoons as a child. Oh, what great memories! He will be missed, but his compassion for people & his work will long be remembered! Thanks for sharing your talent with the public. You brought a lot of smiles to people.

One man, simply showing, calm, quiet, compassion had such a positive and profound affect on a generation who can now look back and appreciate those simple, entertaining, learning moments! We were all very lucky to have had the experience! Thanks, Uncle D!

Chet was a wonderful man that I really enjoyed talking with when he volunteered at TLS. A true Gent! He made my life better by just being in it. God blessed many people when He loaned us Chet.

I loved having lunch with Uncle Dudley and Gerry Geraffe! My brothers, my sister and I all had our birthdays announced and we really thought he knew us. Such wonderful memories, so sad our kids don't have an Uncle Dudley!!!!

I have such wonderful memories of Uncle Dudley with his Gerry Giraffe and his lunchbox. He really touched a lot of us growing up. My husband says he has never forgotten him saying "It's okay to color outside the lines." What a great life lesson. My prayers are with your family on this loss.

I had my lunch every day sitting in front of the TV waiting for Uncle Dudley to come on. I loved Gerry Giraffe! And I wanted to be invited to go through that lunch box so badly! Now I'm 57 years old, but lunch with Uncle Dudley will always remain some of my fondest memories of childhood.
