Christopher Matthews

Christopher Matthews was born on October 23, 1947, in Corbridge, Northumberland, England to Cmdr Nigel Matthews and Jean McFadden. Christopher was the oldest of four children and grew up in several locations throughout Europe, following his father’s service in the Royal Navy.

Christopher met his wife of 51 years, Sharon Frick, while she was on an overnight stop in London during a European vacation. Christopher continued to correspond with Sharon for another year, until he followed her back to the states where they wed.

Christopher began employment as a truck driver with American Dairy in Evansville and would continue driving for the next 40 years with companies like Ohio Valley Hardware, Anderson Trucking Service, and finally working as an owner operator until his retirement. In retirement he continued part-time employment with Professional Transportation Inc (PTI).

Christopher was an avid ham radio operator, N9JCA, and was a life long member of the local Tri State Amateur Radio Society, (TARS).

Christopher is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Denise and his wife, Sharon.

Christopher is survived by his son, Jeremy (Mindy) Matthews; his sisters, Claire Matthews-Smith and Linda Busson, and grandchildren, Cory, Graham & Marcy Matthews.
