Owen always considered Clarence one of his closest friends and when visiting Henderson while I was shopping he and Clarence would be huddled over coffee sharing the past and present.   Owen will greatly miss that.   Clarence encouraged and aided Owen in developing a skill which influenced his remaining employment years.   Losing a friend such as Clarence will leave a great void. Clarence  was a mentor and friend.  We worked closely on many projects.  When I was young, about 13 he took me with him to work on Calhoun Kingdom Hall.  We did conduit and HVAC work.  He made the work great and was very generous, I remember eating lunch a few time in Calhoun at a restaurant that is still there.  When I went off to NYC, Bethel he was supportive.  Then on returning to KY he helped me get work at a local power plant as an electrician.  There was a time I worked on the Circuit and District level in News and accounting, but Clarence felt I would be helpful in Sound, so that is what I did for many years.  We worked closely on the KH builds, then it became RBC.  We worked on drawings before, pre-work and project work.  We worked closely on Providence KH Build in 1982, I was his ground man, actually Crawl space man, we ran most of the conduit needed for the main runs in the crawl space.  He was one of the people I really needed in my life,   He will be missed.  

Just want to say thank you for allowing me to give Clarence's Memorial talk,it was my privilege and honor to share this time with you. CL was a true friend. May Jehovah bless and comfort you in the days to come. We love you, Tom and Shelia

I always remember Clarence at break in our ministry when I was in my teens. He would carry a Swiss Army knife with a pair of scissors.  As we were drinking our Coke products, Clarence would sneak up behind us and cut our straws down to our tops.  Then we would always get up and then get another straw but guard it with our life. 

Another memory is that he studied with my dad and helped him find Jehovah.  He was always close to our family because of that. 

He also was a big encouragement to me when I was young. He oversaw the sound department in Henderson and when I was 14 he let me start to handle the mics. Then he started to use me on the sound controls and that gave me a ton of confidence.

He was a  great brother and will be missed. We will see him again in the New World and catch up.

We are so sorry for your loss. Bro. Newton was such a loving elder and always ready to help. He will be missed but he’s in Jehovah’s memory and soon enough we will be able to welcome all our loved ones back with their health and youth..We will keep your family in our prayers..

I loved my grandpa very much he was such a generous and loving man who loved his family very much. He was one of my favorite people and I am sad that cannot talk to him when I want to. I was his first grandchild and I got more time with him then rest which maybe made us a little closer and I cherish the memories I have of him so much.

He was a treasured and amazing grandfather and person. I will miss him every day. Thank you to everyone wishing our family comfort. Thank you to the healthcare workers that helped make his last few days more comfortable.

Like so many others  I appreciated all Clarence did to make our Kingdom Hall  in Rockport , In.   a place to bring  honor to our great God Jehovah.
And may he comfort  Clarence's family.
