Claude “Allan” Fesmire, 75, of Evansville, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020, at his home. He was born on June 12, 1945, in Lexington, Tennessee, to the late Claude Allan and Catherine (Threadgill) Fesmire, Sr.
Allan graduated from Lexington High School in 1963. He was a high school sports reporter for the Jackson Sun. He retired from the Good Samaritan Home as Chaplain of the Pathways Dementia unit. He served his Clinical Pastoral Education and Chaplaincy work at Deaconess Hospital. Allan earned a B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy, a B.A. in English at the University of Southern Maine, and a M.T.S. at Vanderbilt Divinity School.
Allan served as a pharmacist in the U.S. Army and later at various hospitals and pharmacies throughout the country. He was a member of Salem Church of Darmstadt. He had a great memory, was a great writer and story teller, and was a life-long learner.
He enjoyed traveling to every U.S. State, several parts of Europe, and visited the Holy Land twice.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Claude is survived by his wife of 19 years, Sharon Fesmire; step-son, Jonathan Fosdick step-daughter, Rachel Koch (Brendan); step-son, John-Patrick McChesney; close cousins, Anne Lee (Ron), Mary Frances Cowan (Gary) and Pam Trella (Phillip) and other cousins.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2020, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. David Peterson, with burial in New Salem Cemetery on W. Campground Road. Friends may visit on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
