Clayton R. Stinson Jr.

Clayton R. Stinson, Jr, 83, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at his home. He was born on September 11, 1929 in Evansville to the late Clayton Stinson and Hazel Stadler.
Clayton was a 34 year veteran of the Evansville Police Department retiring as a Lieutenant in criminal investigation. He was a past member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
He also served in the Marines during the Korean War. He was a Sergeant in the Fox Company of the 7th Marines and a member of the Marine League (River Cities Department).
Clayton was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry Stadler and Pete Stinson; ex-wife; Carolyn Stinson.
He is survived by his son, Michael Stinson (Barbara) of Indianapolis; daughter, Nancy Stinson of Florida; granddaughters, Holly Baldwin (Adam), Mallory Stinson, Abby Stinson and fiancée Drew Morris; grandsons, Kyle Coin and Ryan Stinson; great-grandchildren, Austin Baldwin and Lindsey Baldwin to be born in July; sister, Evelyn Artz; favorite cousins, Donald and Harriett Lyon; sister-in-law, Judy Stadler; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Chaplain Darren Sroufe with burial at Alexander Memorial Park. Graveside honors will be conducted by the FOP Lodge 73 Honor Guard. Friends may visit Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
