Janey was a 1972 graduate from FJ Reitz High School. She served as Vice President and Office Manager at Bill Egli Concrete Construction, Inc. for 50 years, working alongside three generations of her family, including her husband, son, and grandsons. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s UCC where she taught Sunday School and worked in offering. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she loved the Lord deeply.
Janey’s greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished her family and loved being involved in her children’s lives, including volunteering with the PTA while they attended school. Janey enjoyed spending time in her beautiful backyard, swimming in the pool with her grandchildren, decorating her home, and cheering on her grandchildren who lovingly called her "Jum Jum." She delighted in choosing thoughtful gifts for everyone in her family, and had a truly special way of wrapping each one. She loved baking and cooking and often made her husband, Bill, her willing guinea pig as she tried out new recipes.
Janey is survived by her loving husband, Bill Egli, Sr.; son, Billy Egli (Amy); grandchildren, Will Egli (Kennedy), Clay Egli (fiancée, Grace), Kane Egli, Paige Egli and Reed Egli; daughter, Leigh Ann York (Scott); grandchildren, Lily York, Nathan York, Meredith York and Holden York; step-grandchildren, Sidney Raben (Wyatt) and Grady Schneider (Kaleigh); great-grandchildren, Saylor Egli and Suede Egli; step-great-grandchild, Leighton Schneider; siblings, Melinda Estep (Ray), David Siler (Peggy) and Jimmy Siler (Jan); along with many nieces and nephews and in-laws.
Janey's funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois St. in Evansville, officiated by Pastor Matt Volkman, and livestreamed at www.facebook.com/FuneralStreamUSA. Burial will follow in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2026 and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
