Debbie graduated from Boonville High school and later retired from Bristol Myers after many years of service.
On November 5, 1988, she married Rodney "Chet" Jackson. Though she did not have any children of her own, Debra embraced her four stepchildren and several grandchildren, loving them as her own and holding family close in the ways that matter most.
Debbie was Baptist, though she did not belong to a church. She found joy in the things that made life brighter—she was an avid Bruno Mars fan, and she followed the Golden State Warriors with particular enthusiasm for Steph Curry.
Creative at heart, Debbie loved making wreaths for any holiday, bringing beauty and celebration to each season through her own hands and thoughtful attention.
Her memory will be cherished by those who knew her, and her presence will be deeply missed.
Debbie is survived by her husband of 37 years, Rodney "Chet" Jackson; stepchildren, Rhonda Tolliver, Ronnette Tolliver, Rodman Tolliver; several grandchildren; brothers, William Anthony McClure; John McClure (Polly); Kenneth McClure (Kathy); Dennis Ray McClure (Charlene); sister, Jacqueline Marie (McCord) Pore (Thomas, deceased); special sister, Angela Riley; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; oldest brother James McClure (Stella) in 2009 and her stepson Ronald Tolliver in 2006.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until Noon at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville, IN 47714. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at Noon on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Alexander East Chapel with Rev. Richard Pollard, Sr. officiating.
