Deloise “Dee” Dossett, 83, of Evansville, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at St. Vincent’s Hospital, with her children holding her hands. Dee was born in Kentucky on April 19, 1934 to the late Clyde Ulrich Durham and Mae Rean (Morris) Durham.
She retired from Red Spot Paint and Varnish Co. in Evansville, IN after many years of devoted service. She relocated to Bradenton, FL in 1990 with her second husband, Lee Dossett, the love of her life, where she thoroughly enjoyed the warm weather, making new friends and frequent visits with her family. When Dee’s health started to decline, she returned to Evansville to be near family again. Though ongoing health concerns plagued Dee in the last years of her life, she had a strong, determined will to live.
Dee truly treasured time spent with family and friends, especially her grandchildren whom she loved to spoil. She cherished her adored Yorkies and cat, enjoyed cheering on her favorite professional basketball teams, playing cards, getting her hair styled, shopping, and tuning in to her favorite soap operas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; second husband, Lee Dossett in 2017; and first husband, Harold DeWayne Wiseman, in 1998.
Dee leaves to cherish a wealth of fond memories to her two children, Lisa Marie Hale (Jim) of Newburgh, IN and Jeffrey Wayne Wiseman of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Karey Wiseman-Halbrook (Amanda) of Los Angeles, CA and Tyler James Hale of Evansville, IN; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Grant Halbrook of Los Angeles, CA; sister, Corine Arnold (Delland) of Evansville, IN; nephew Gregory Arnold of Henderson, KY; and sisters-in-law, Joyce Snodgrass (Larry) of Newburgh, IN and Ruth (Steve) Oakley of Henderson, KY; and cousins, step-sisters and their families.
Dee’s family would like to thank friends for all of their care and compassion for Dee.
A funeral service and entombment was held at Alexander Memorial Park on February 1, 2018.
Memorial contributions may be made to Tri-State Yorkie Rescue, 415 N. Main St., Oakland City, IN 47660 and the American Lung Association. Condolences may be made online at www.AlexanderWestChapel.com.
