

Deloris "Dee" Riley, 92, passed away on November 3, 2015, in Evansville, Indiana. She was born on Halloween, October 31, 1923, in Evansville, Indiana. She was married to Morris E. Riley, and they celebrated 70 years together on February 20, 2014.
She graduated from Reitz High School in three years and went on the graduate from Evansville College. She married her high school sweetheart. After her husband’s discharge from the US Navy, she returned to Evansville and taught at Reitz, Bosse, and several other schools. She later taught physical education and health at Stringtown Elementary School, from which she retired. She was a member of Three Arts where she enjoyed her friends and playing Bridge. She loved her sports, and played golf (scoring a hole-in-one) and tennis most of her life. She was an avid Cardinals, Colts, and IU fan.
Deloris was preceded in death by her husband, Morris E. Riley; parents, Roy and Laura Rice; and her sister, Betty Jane (Ralph) Elmendorf.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Roger) Herrin; son, Scott (Susan) Riley; grandchildren, Tammy (Andy) Thomsen of Placentia, CA, Cory (Staci) Herrin and Clay (Crystal) Herrin, both of Evansville, IN and Graham (Grace) McDowell of Chicago, IL.; great-grandchildren, Riley Jane & Reaghan Herrin, Carli & Kelsie Herrin, Riley Nicole & Makenna Thomsen, and Whitney Malloy & Jordan Malloy (Dejae, and little Aurora); nieces, Jane (John) Sullivan, Kim (Mike) Seitz and Laurie Burcaw; and nephew, Jon (Linda) Elmendorf.
Funeral services were held 2:00 PM Sunday, November 8, 2015, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by her grandson, Rev. Cory Herrin. Friends visited Sunday from 12:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. Burial was held in Sunset Memorial Park.
