Dennis K. Hargett

He and his brother owned and operated Premier Scales and Systems. He was a very active member of New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Church. Dennis loved doing things for others. He was a member of the NHRA and ADRL, and was a past NHRA and IHRA National Record Holder. He also belonged to the West Side Sportsman Club. Dennis enjoyed drag racing, playing golf with his granddaughter, and attending auctions. He was the team owner of Hargett Racing, and was a master engine builder. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He enjoyed car shows, bowling with his dad at Franklin Lanes, and spending time at the West Side Fall Festival.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 27 years, Carol; sons, Ryan Hargett (Tammy), Brent Hargett (and girlfriend, Brittany), John Jarvis (Andrea); daughter, Julie Kempf (Steve; mother, Myrtle Hargett; brothers, Wayne and Ron Hargett; grandchildren, Ashley Jarvis, Taylor Utley, Blake Hargett, Kaylie Kempf, Jordan Jarvis, Brooke Hargett; and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Mark Browning and the staff at the Deaconess 5100 Unit.

Services will be 2 PM, Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Glenn Kreider, with entombment at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Tuesday, 2-8 PM at the funeral home and noon until service time on Wednesday.
