He was an engineer for 28 years with Southern Railroad and a member of the Evansville Athletic Club. Don was a life-long Cardinal fan and an excellent woodworker.
Don is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol (Flaherty) Tungate; daughters, Michelle (Tungate) Shapuras (Tom) and Robin Tungate Myers; son, Kevin Tungate (Kim); daughter, Lisa (Tungate) Siddons (Dave); sons, Kerry and Keith Tungate (Tammy); grandchildren, Nicole Jarrell, Jodi Whitted, Brittany and Zach Siddons, Ryan and Tyler Tungate, Lauren and Haley Cardwell, Clay and Keri Tungate, Dana, Sydney, Hannah, Kameryn and Kirstyn Tungate; six great-grandchildren; nephews, Mark, Matt and Chris McEvilly; and niece, Trisha McEvilly.
Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Pastor Jeremiah Kinney. Friends may visit Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and Tuesday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
