Donald "Don" Ray Pillow

Don was preceded in death by his wife, Margie and grandson, Travis.

He is survived by 5 children, Lana Schaperjohn (Jeff), Jeanie Powell (Shawn), Joe Burligame, Debbie Stammer and Ladonna Perkins; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Carol Pillow (Judy); and niece, Shirley.

As a sailor in the United States Navy, Don proudly served as a machinist Mate 3rd Class Petty Officer (MM3) from 1957 to 1959 aboard the USS Cowell. He enjoyed fishing, playing guitar and singing Johnny Cash songs. Don and Margie were long-time members of River Bend where they liked to dance. He was a General Foreman and retired from Mesker Steel and Traylor Brothers, Inc.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Chaplain James Rollison, followed by burial at Alexander Memorial Park.

Friends and family may visit at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN, on Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m., and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
