Donel V. Bisesi

He received his Master’s from IU in 1964. From 2000-2015 Don coached the USI Women’s Golf Team and led USI to ten NCAA Division II Super East Regional Championships. He was the Golf Pro Manager at Helfrich Golf Course from 1977-2000. In his early years, he taught school in Martinsville where he was coach of the school team. In 1999, Don was inducted to the Indianapolis University Hall of Fame. He was named Great Lakes Valley Conference “Coach of the Year” in both 2011 and 2015 and was Indiana Jr. Golf Promoter of The Year in 1988. He was a 43 year member of the PGA, former PGA Board Member and one of the co-founders of Evansville’s Junior Golf Association in 1977. In 1988, Don won the Indiana PGA Senior Championship.

Don was preceded in death by his son, Vinnie Bill Bisesi; brother, Billy Bisesi; and his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, DeLaine Bisesi; son, Chris Bisesi; daughter, Rose (Juan) Quiroz; grandchildren, Kendra Bisesi and Cruz and Diaz Quiroz; great-grandchildren, Addi Pickett and Bryden Moore; sister, Wilda Bisesi; and nephew, Michael Dorman.

Funeral services will be held 7:00 PM Wednesday, December 23, 2015, officiated by Dr. Gene Van Stone, at Alexander West Chapel. Friends may visit Wednesday from 2:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. Private graveside services will be held in Hilldale Cemetery in Martinsville, IN.
