

She graduated from Eldorado High School and was a member of the marching band. She could play trumpet and was a baton twirler. She also enjoyed playing piano with her family. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, and worked for many years as Church Clerk, a teacher in the Cradle Room, and was Church Membership Secretary. One of her loves was maintaining the church property. She was an Administrative Secretary at EVSC for 22 years, and helped with her husband’s excavating business. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and spent her life taking care of her family.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Baker; and brother, George Cox.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jack DeLap; daughter, Cynthia Statham, and fiancé, Jan Osterud; son, Greg DeLap, and girlfriend, Polly Hardsock; grandchildren, Alexandra and Andrew Statham; brothers, Frank H. Cox, of Harrisburg, IL, Gerald D. Cox, of Chicago, IL, and Robert “Bob” Cox, of Eldorado, IL.
Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, September 19, 2013, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor Richard Helzerman, with burial at Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Condolences may be made online at www.AlexanderEastChapel.com.
