Obituary of Donna Marie Stubbe
Donna M. Stubbe, 72, born March 28th, 1946 in Alton, Illinois passed away October 14, 2018 peacefully in her home with her loved ones. Donna was a 1964 graduate of Henderson City High School. She attended Murray State University where she obtained her teaching degree in speech & hearing therapy in 1968. She later graduated from the University of Evansville, earning her Masters in Teaching, Masters in Music and Masters in Special Education. Donna began her teaching career in Mayfield, Kentucky as a speech therapist. She was hired by the Henderson County School System where she began a speech and hearing therapy program in the elementary schools and then moved in to special needs and special education. After this, she went to work in the Henderson County High School to write the curriculum for the special education program. Donna retired from the Henderson County School System after teaching for over 30 years. Donna was a Kentucky Colonel. After retirement, Donna moved to Canada to begin a new adventure. She was an avid fisherwoman! She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, crochet and bridge. She was a part of the North Shore Singers in Terrace Bay, Ontario. This group toured the Northern Superior area and sang for many different groups. She was active with the local senior center where she became the yoga instructor. Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie Stubbe and her parents Harold and Ruby Agnew. Donna is survived by her daughter Erin Jackson (Brent) of Evansville, Indiana, her son Adam Stubbe (Colleen) of Winnipeg, Manitoba, three grandchildren, Mason Wilkerson of Newburgh, Keeana Adams and Mia Adams, both of Winnipeg, Manitoba. She also leaves behind her best friends Karen Duncan and Vivian Tomblin. Friends may visit the family Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue.
