Obituary of Doris Elaine Fischer
Doris Elaine (Tuck) Fischer, 66, of Evansville IN, passed away on August 10, 2022. She was born on March 3, 1956 in Evansville, IN to her late parents, Carlos and Mourine (McDaniel) Tuck. She grew up on a farm, on top of Burdette hill. Doris worked as a CNA in her earlier career, and later worked in the food service industry as a manager at Busler’s Gas Station, and at several KFC locations where she worked to improve overall operations. She loved God and attended church regularly. Her most passionate thing to do was to listen to her favorite gospel music and spread the word of God. Doris was a Godly and caring woman. She put everyone above herself. Throughout her life she helped everyone with everything she had, from her last penny, to her whole heart. Doris took on many struggles and heartaches to make sure that all kids in the neighborhood were taken care of, which in turn made their life better and full of love. However, she was not shy to pull out a switch and show hard love, as well. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Barbara Duncan and Janice Dunn; and brother, Danny Tuck. Doris is survived by her brother, Randall (wife, Sheila) Tuck; sisters, Brenda (husband, William) Thompson, Joyce (husband, Gary) Spurling; her love, Todd Fischer; five children, Melissa Pool, Ronald Neighbors, Donald Neighbors, Jason Neighbors and Amanda Epley; 17 grandkids, 22 great grandkids; and all the neighborhood kids that called her Mom. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Alexander West Chapel. Family and friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Doris’ honor to the Doris Fischer Memorial Fund in care of Alexander West. Condolences may be made online at www.AlexanderWestChapel.com.
