Doris Jean Glesige

Doris Jean Glesige, 94, of Evansville, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at her home. She was born on December 19, 1928 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Herman J. and Mada (Pflug) Neubling. Doris was a graduate of Central High School in 1946. She was a member of Bethel UCC and Hadi Honored Ladies Society. Doris worked at SIGECO where she met her future husband and had also worked at Credit Thrift. Doris was instrumental in organizing Central High Class Reunions for a number of years. She enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and watching their sporting events and celebrating school achievements. Doris also enjoyed gardening and traveling. Doris was an avid Purdue basketball and football fan. A favorite pastime was playing Clabber and Triminos at the apartment complex. Doris especially enjoyed reminiscing about the 50-plus years her family was able to spend with friends at Kentucky Lake. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Richard “Dick” Glesige; parents Herman and Mada Nuebling; and son-in-law, Bruce Geske. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Wade (John) and Patty Geske; son, Steve Glesige (Janet); six grandchildren, Jason Wade, Joshua Geske (Becky), Stephanie Foxworthy (Eric), Michelle Williams (Ryan), Heather Espenlaub (Matt) and Scott Glesige; and nine great grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. (CST) on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor Jack Arney with entombment at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
