Dorothy J. Chumley

Dorothy “Dottie” Jean Chumley, 89, of Evansville, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Columbia Healthcare. She was born in Washington, Indiana, on December 23, 1933, to the late Clarence and Helen K. (Disser) Dages.

Dottie worked for 17 years at Citizens National Bank and also Walmart for 17 years. She was a member of Nativity and Holy Rosary Catholic Churches and AARP. Dottie loved to go dancing, traveling, especially to Florida, and dining out with friends.

Dottie was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, James Lee Chumley, Sr. and parents.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Gail Ingram; and several nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue on Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and again on Monday, December 11, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM. Private burial will take place after services with final resting place next to her husband at Alexander Memorial Park.
