

He was born in Convoy, Ohio, on February 28, 1915, to the late John Sherman Clark and Emma Jane (Hartsock) Clark. He graduated from Ridge High School, now Lincolnview High School, Van Wert County, Ohio.
Earl served in World War II for four years in the Pacific Theater. While in the military he was a staff sergeant, serving as a cook, carrying meals to the front line daily.
He worked most of his life in sales primarily for the Fuller Bush Company and Sears Roebuck in Evansville, Indiana.
Earl was an active member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ in Evansville for over 50 years and Northminster Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, friend, and neighbor. His kindness and generosity will always be cherished. He was a “no nonsense”, practical man and when you had him as a friend, it was for life. Earl loved the outdoors. He was an avid gardener and took pride in growing some of the finest vegetables.
Earl was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold and Russell Clark.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary Alice (Miller) Clark; son, John (Lynette) Clark of Louisville, KY; daughter, JoEllen Clark of Indianapolis; granddaughter, Erin Clark of Indianapolis; grandson, Andrew (Andrea) Clark of Henderson, NV; and one great grandson, John Andrew (Jack) Clark of Henderson, NV.
Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at Bethlehem United Church of Christ, officiated by Rev. Joe Fraccaro. Friends may visit Tuesday, from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander North Chapel and Wednesday, from 10:00 AM until service time at the church.
