He retired from Hahn Manufacturing in 1997. Earl enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and restoring antique tractors. He also liked watching the neighborhood kids play ball.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Luella Kercher; second wife, Betty (Sanders) Kercher; and three siblings, William "Bill" Kercher, Betty Sanders, and Helen Krietemeyer.
He is survived by his stepdaughter and caregiver, Julia Tepe (Dale); grandson, Clinton Tepe; great grandson, Graylon Tepe; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026 at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Pastor Jason Rea, with burial to follow in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the staff at both Woodmont Health Campus and Heart to Heart Hospice for their wonderful care of Earl.
